Fun and fripperies

My knitting plans have lost their spice.
Not that I'm not enjoying my knitting (I am), or that I'm short of inspiraton (I'm not), but The Plan feels like a life sentence, and I want some of the joy back.
The new job is eating so much of my time and energy that I just want some FUN when I sit down to needles and yarn. I also want to sew more, spin more, weave more. So, until the inspiration strikes and tells me otherwise, I'm going to change track. I've missed the signup for the summer of socks, but I'm going to knit socks anyway. And lace. And lacy socks, if I want. I might even manage some crochet.
First though, I *will* finish Spring Fling. Which is progressing. Honest!
Meanwhile, a LOLdog…

I’m right there with you! I finished 3 “plan” projects, have cast on several more and they are progressing, but I am knitting whatever I want right now. I decided not buying yarn & material this year was enough to worry about.

That makes sense Ota – you have just had a huge change in your life – make the rest of it as easy as possible!

Sounds fair enough to me! There’s no point if you’re not enjoying it. I change my mind about what I want to make all the time; the only rule I have for myself is that I’m not supposed to have more than two things cast/hooked on at the same time. But I don’t always keep to that one, either, because I’m so bad. =)

I figure knitting is supposed to be fun right? Give yourself early parole (time off for good behaviour?).
I went back and looked at your “Plan” list.. you said you were excited about Collete… why not move her way up in the line? If you’re excited about her do her first! (And I’m not saying that just because I have that pattern too and would love to see what you do with it. ;^])

Just go with the flow! BTW I tagged you – see my blog.

Hear, hear! Knitting should above all be fun, don’t be hard on yourself, do what feels right. Gorgeous dog.
